There is a new player in town called the i-drill.  Its not a coincidence that this looks and sounds like an i-Phone.  In fact this power tool line is designed to be stylish, strong and easy to use for the homeowner.  While i-drill is going for a stylish tool, they are also going for a practical tool that holds up.  In fact their line offers a five year warranty, so they do stand behind their product which we find key.  Currently they offer 5 different tools in their line up:

• i-drill 1i
• i-drill 2i
• Impact Driver
• Oscillating tool
• Work Light

All these tools are powered by a 1.3amp , 12 volt Lithium -ion Sanyo battery.  The i-drill 1i, i-drill Impact Driver and the oscillating tool all come with one battery and a 45 minute charger.  The i-drill 2i comes with two batteries and a drill stand to hold the drill in an upright position while charging or storing.

Another feature i-drill is going after is their power options.  Each drill comes with power adapters where the drill can be used in 99% of the countries.  On the bottom of the power cord, you can switch the plug to match the power outlet for which ever country you are in.  Now where we are in Chicago, its not useful to use, but we can see two advantages.  First if you live on a border of another country and tend to travel back and forth, this would be helpful.  The other benefit we see is helping keep cost down for retailers.  You can ship this box anywhere in the world.  They don’t have to have separate packing or lines to produce different boxes for different countries.
